uncle steven and uncle patrick came to pick us up and sent us to the airport.
yea, needed both of them coz of our luggages. heh.
checked in our luggage.
raphael's epic face again!
then went for dinner at KFC before going in.
Lol, the kids' flair of making funny faces.
and they get to post it on the teevee there.
please spot them on teevee if any of you are going to the KFC at the airport. Lol.
and so we departed for taiwan at midnight!
biujie and meimei came to send us off too :D
angry bird, even at the airport!
ahhhh, not a fan!
the cheeky boy.
then it's time to go in!
pretty christmas tree!
the kids love to sit on trolleys for luggages.
and stand on one too.
just look at raphael's angry face. lol.
quite hilarious.
oh yes, the white shoes that will most likely turn greyish at the end of the trip.
the big bear shop.
oh, and there's this FREE CHARGING booth to charge your phones!
from blackberry, to iphone, to samsung, to even HTC!
charge your phone while waiting for your flight!
so convenient!
otw to D36!
boarding soon! hehe, was so excited!
took a plane to transit at hk airport.
we were on Cathay Pacific.
after 23 years, parents finally get to take a plane!
sigh sigh sigh, i needa earn more money next time to bring them for hols more often!
yes, i was sitting next to cheeky raphael.
his kids' meal :D
the adults' kind.
not yummy (N).
he knew when he was tired and needed to sleep.
got himself in a comfortable position and just doze off. haha.
arrived at the HK airport.
early morning at around 6am.
so some of us grabbed a bite.
their macs serve macaroni!
hmmm, but it wasnt very nice.
oh, and i have a new love --- MICKEY!
so so cute when i spotted them at the disneyland shop in their airport!
after resting for like 2-3hrs, we made our way to the boarding gate to take the plane to TAIPEI!
#26.
morning flight!
sandwich served for the 1hr plus flight.
popped over to the window to snap this.
the reason i like morning flights :D
damn interesting.
we get to see what's happening outside!
there's this 'outside camera' function which enables passengers to witness the plane taking off and touching down! too awesome!
we arrived safely at taiwan.
while waiting to board the plane, i saw pilots walking around and looking so aiseh in their uniforms! hehe
especially love it when the plane takes off at fast speed after a pause-moment on land!
also, when it's on autopilot mode where we get to see the clear blue sky and fluffy white clouds!
just too pretty seriously!
oh, and not forgetting when the plane touches down!
so awwwwww~
well well, in order not to squeeze with the crowd, we went for toilet break right after we alight from the plane.
spacious area for us to rest :D
apparently, undergoing renovation.
hence, the covered-narrow walkway?
saw our tourguide, and she brought us to the coachbus pick-up/drop-off area to wait for our bus.
tadah!
our coach bus for day 1!
big big bus :D
we like!
heh, tt's our tour guide, Wawa, doing a headcount!
gonggong :D
tour guide brought us for lunch right after picking us up.
we were all tired and hungry.
so excited and looking forward to our first lunch at a restaurant in Taipei!
Ryan pouring drinks for all of us :D
yay! fooood!
but it was quite disappointing after putting the first piece of food into my mouth.
not nice one (N).
so i gave up taking pic of the rest of the food.
oh, but this is nice!
it's called 'Liu Ding'.
like small oranges, but they taste really sweet and juicy!
free ice-cream.
hence the crowd. lol.
while the kids were scooping their ice-cream, i shifted over to the adults' table and they drank this!
pineapple flavored taiwan pi jiu!
we all like :D
after lunch, the tour guide brought us to the first hotel tt we were gonna stay in --- Hotel Kuva Chateau.
while waiting to check-in.
view of the common walkway after exiting the lifts.
room #826.
not bad, quite big.
deposited our stuff and decided to go to the nearest night market.
gathered at the hotel lobby.
raphael with his epic facial expression again!
off we went to Zhongli Night Market.
all gathered at the first food stall!
it's boneless chicken meat tt is made into sausage-shape!
looook!
the tasty sausage-shaped boneless chicken meat!
very very yummy!
esp in a cold weather, and eating something hot.
it's just exceptionally yummy!
a few stalls ahead.
we bought their sesame ball.
the sesame balls were recommended on taiwan variety food programs!
so glad we get to try them!
really yummy!
outside was crispy, inside was chewy and q! :D
raphael decided to lao gai and want me to carry.
just kept crying and grabbing onto me, so i passed the camera to benben and asked him to snap pics. haha.
these were some of the pics benben took.
hmm... i told him to take a pic of the stall, but he snapped this.
erm... ... ??
this is the 'da chang bao xiao chang'.
waited so damn long for it.
sigh, not worth the wait.
did'nt like it (N).
the 'da chang' is glutinuous rice, not sausage.
disappointed.
got our late dinner at this small shop we chanced upon.
their shops are all so small.
once all of us go in, 3/4 of the shop is occupied alr. lol.
they sells everything on hotplate and comes with free flow drinks and soup!
the boys.
this is mine.
i dont want noodles nor macaroni, so they gave me one more egg.
lol, so distinct. really 2 eggs.
sat with gonggong and popo :D
they so cute. ordered one and share.
i dont like my egg yolks to be so soft, so i offered them :D
street food and dinner were great!
so much better than our lunch at the restaurant in the afternoon!
it started to rain.
hence, the idea of putting plastic bags over to protect our heads!
haha, gonggong's idea!
model reymus :)
otw back to hotel, we walked into a 7-11 kind of convenience stall.
their love for coke, even at Taipei. haha.
the size tt we dont have in sg!
rested for awhile, and some of us decided to head to the Night Market again for supper!
it was drizzling, so we had beanies on to protect our heads. haha.
looks nicer with lights on la!
daddy and mummy :) :)
then family shots!
ahhh, it started to pouuuur :(
weather got even colder when it rain!
so we seek shelter and settled for Taiwan style dao huey.
the kind where you can choose what 'toppings' you wanna add into your dao huey!
as usual, the kids will gather at a table of their own.
i belong to the adults table with them :D
walked on and found the kind of sugarcane drink tt we dont see in sg!
they peng the sugarcanes like how we peng satays and otahs in sg!
tasted like sugarcane + water chestnut drink.
parents found it alittle too sweet, but 4yi and i liked it :D
it's said to be good for coughs/sorethroats and so on.
4yi lost her voice, so she got one cup to try.
amazingly, it worked!
dabao-ed this back to the hotel.
it's like the 'petit doughnut' at taka!
wo xi huan! (Y)(Y)
4yi was unwell, so parents brought her back to the hotel first.
the rest of us contd searching for food to dabao back to the hotel to eat :D
bee hoon and ribs soup from this stall :D
the ribs soup.
soup base was not bad.
tasted like bak kut teh. herbal kind.
but the ribs are not too fantastic. no meat!
prawns that were advertised and recommended on taiwan variety food shows!
we bought the last 2 boxes!
look at that pic!
i do watch that show occassionally! hehe :D
the really huge prawns!
with such long legs!?
were we eating lobsters or what!?
more of these otw back!
we all love it!
even the aunty recognized us! hahaha!
then we gathered at uncle roy's room and shared the food :D
nicololo enjoying her corn on the cob!
her expression here is quite funny, i had to post it. HAHAHA.
princess kylie, forever having a soft toy in her hands.
even when she's eating, she wont let it go.
last pic for the day.
tt's 4yi's luggage.
now we know why her luggages were the biggest!
so so many clothes! :O
