#OOTD.
morning buffet breakfast at hotel lobby.
assortment of breads.
assortment of cereals.
the hot dishes.
my toasted wholemeal bread with smoked salmon and assortment of cereals :D
after breakfast, it's time to set off!
us, while waiting for the rest :D
why he so adorable!? hehehe ^o^
tt's our new bus!
new coach bus that will bring us around for the next few days tt we'll be spending in taiwan!
we prefer this bus to the one ytd!
feels cleaner and more spacious!
off we went to Taipei Gu Gong, their national palace museum.
oh well, but i'm not someone who knows how to appreciate these antique stuff, so it was kind of boring for me.
worse thing was we were not allowed to snap pictures and the staff were not very friendly. looked so hostile.
we were each given this ear phones so tt when the tour guide speaks, we can hear her clearly instead of her shouting her lungs out.
this is the only place where we can snap pics.
ok, i dont even know who is he, but everyone takes pic with him, so we followed suit. lol.
the cool breeze, the view, the space and all!
the kids saw a flight of stairs, so they started running all the way up.
lol, their energy level is really high!
tt's the Gu Gong behind.
the cousins :D
the adults were trying their best to make us dance gangnam style.
but it was really too embarrassing coz there were simply too too tooooo many people watching and we were SHY!
so they just merely told us to jump.
tt could be done :D
oopsie, landed too early. haha
group pic before going for lunch!
oh yes, and we learnt from wawa tht xu chun mei lives somewhere there!
and tt she's super rich, coz tt area is considered quite an exp part of taipei!
we didn't complete the tour coz it was really boring and there were no escalators/lifts!
we had to climb stairs and squeeze with other tourists there! bad bad bad!
had lunch soon after at the restaurant nearby.
flight of stairs again, tt leads to the restaurant.
mummy and 3yi :D
the interior of the restaurant.
teehee, an area for pic taking :D
our table of food.
rice comes in a large bowl and you'll self-scoop how much you want from it.
unagi yam cake.
cayden only takes the unagi and i finished the yam for him .-.
funnily, they serve Liu Ding again at the end of our meal!
dont even know if it's their practice or we requested for it.
nevertheless, we were fine with it coz it's nice :D
pic before leaving the restaurant!
we like the cool weather!
haix, both benben and i agreed that restaurant food are less yummy than street food.
we enjoy street food so much more that restaurant food and they're cheaper!
on the way back to the coach bus, it was flights of stairs after MORE flights of stairs!
just look at the flight of stairs!
traveled to Shi Fen Pu Bu after.
the 'ferries wheel' we caught a glimpse of, while on the bus to Shi Fen Pu Bu!
got reminded of our Singapore Flyer!
Reached our destination shortly!
needed to walk quite a distance to see the Shifen Falls!
it was drizzling.
daddy decided to walk the other path.
the kids followed.
but look what happened!
it was too slippery!
daddy saved grandpa from falling, but he fell instead!
long long way.
walked more cautiously coz it was drizzling and the ground was wet and slippery!
finallly we have reached!
all of us, slowing coming down one by one.
steps were really steep!
witnessed the train as in comes and go!
too shocking when you hear locals there shouting, '火车來了!'
and we quickly ran to the side.
i did'nt get to walk on the railway tracks in sg.
but i get to step on one in taipei!
picture-worthy moment! yay :v
then it's time to enter and go take a look at the Shi Fen Pu Bu!
oh, this is a must-touch! hahaha :D
walking in alittle further!
can you spot the Shi Fen Pu Bu alr!?
there! tadah!
lovely scenery!
hao mei o!
posting this because of how kylie and i will unknowingly lift one of our legs to pose!
haha, it was pure coincidence!
another :D
reymus exploring on his own.
this little boy here explored on his own too.
but look what happened!
he fell into a pond of water lilies and got his pants soaked!
luckily the tour guide saw and hurriedly pull him up!
otherwise it would have been disastrous!
stood on top of a table and snap downwards!
view is prettier!
then they went to feed the fishes and ducks before we move off!
last few pics before we go off!
the tree-bark-shaped 'telephone booth'.
with nicololo :D
after 23 years, parents finally took the airplane once again and traveled to some countries further than just Malaysia!
aww~ i like this pic :) :)
then dropped by Ping Xi to fang Tian Deng!
the tour guide bought 2 lanterns!
one for the kids to write, the other for adults!
kids' lantern.
as expected, doodling.
my turn to write!
yes, wrote one for meimei too.
spot it. haha.
as we write, reymus was busy eating smelly tofu. lol.
adults' lantern.
every one writing their wishes!
midway, the train came and mummy wanted a pic, but it was too fast, i couldnt capture it in time! :/
after we were done writing, it was time to release the lantern to sky high!
the adults first!
up, up, into the skyyyyy!
then it was our turn!
kids' lantern!
up, up into the skyyyy!
and our lanterns flew further and further away from us, into the sky.
wonderful experience!
how i wish i-van and i could do that tgt one day!
uncle roy then decided to get some fire works to play.
litting it up.
then step away and slowly, it will start to sparkle!
within seconds, and it's gone. lol.
so fast.
very turn off to spot cats around!
scare the shit out of me though they were just sitting there, not doing anything!
contd walking along the pathway and see what they were selling.
looked very interesting.
so benben and i shared one.
it's like those honey-on-chopsticks which you can find in sg's pasar malams!
just tt it's frozen, hence, in this pyramid shape.
the taste, it's exactly the same as those we get fro pasar malams in sg!
reymus got one for free coz the stall owner asked what is his weight and he answered her. lol.
cute gonggong! hahaha :D
tgt w cayden :D
returned back to the same shop again coz uncle roy was very fascinated with the fire crackers / fire works / fire sparklers, so he bought some for the kids to play.
the boss lit the sticks up for them.
happy kids with their sparkling sticks!
went back to the hotel for toilet break and to wash up.
it was colder at night, so zipped myself up!
then traveled to some restaurant that uncle cw's taiwanese friends/biz associates recommend, for dinner.
on the bus to dinner place.
always seeing this at roadsides, but what is 'bing lang'??
i still dont understand.
anw, back to our dinner, it was their treat!
totally looked like a wedding set-up, the first thing we see when we went in.
hehehe trying their best to make us feel comfortable!
the lazy suzan was really huge!
and yea, the one in white, standing, is one of the hosts.
and funny of them to want to introduce rich guys to me! lol.
everything was big there!
the table, the portion of food and even the red wine they brought!
can you see how tall it is, in comparison to a chinese tea pot and a jug?
it is that tall!
lol, for a moment, i felt like i was watching a scene of a taiwan drama right there and then!
oh, and they really really CAN drink!
i only gulp one small glass of 'gao liang' and alittle red wine and my face started to turn red alr.
but those taiwanese can keep downing those alcohol and still feel totally sober about it! zomg.
i thought it would be kind of awkward to want to snap a pic of every dish served, so we just ate without snapping any pics.
except for this one tt raphael wanted to snap.
a pic of me eating the big kong ba bao's bao.
the kids got filled really quickly, so they just ran out to the garden to find the rabbits.
pics of closed-up rabbits are taken by raphael.
he was chasing the rabbits like dont know what! lol.
see see see!
tt's little raphael moving slowly towards the rabbit he spotted. lol.
cayden joining in the fun!
he was more scary.
he just randomly picked up a stick from the grass and started swinging it around!
dangerous manz!
that restaurant's really cute, with rabbits hopping freely around their garden!
the kids were having so much fun chasing the rabbits, but i guess the rabbits must have had a shock of their lives, trying to escape from the kids' chase! hahaha!
after dinner, we went to Zhongli Night Market again.
it was different!
more stalls are opened and they blocked off the road, except perhaps only motorbikes can squeeze in!
eat again, after dinner.
then went back to hotel, took a warm shower, waited for my hair to dry(coz i couldnt find any hair dryer), and hoping to sleep asap coz i was really tired (z.z)
yay! she's arriving tmr! cant wait!
oh oh and did i mention the taiwanese dont refer to toilets as toilets/restrooms, but they call them 'hua zhuang shi'!
