BKK Day 1.

and so, the 4 of us decided to fly to BKK on a sunday!
aww~ mega excited for this trip!

woke up at 4am to prepare and gonggong sent us to the airport, T2!

had our breakfast at macs, then flew to BKK!

somehow, this ALWAYS happen to us.

took Tiger Airways this time.

popo :)

and us :D :D :D

of course, on a plane, we can never miss out taking pics of the pretty sky + clouds when you're so so high above ground!

pretty.

pilot was such a chiongster!
all his stunts were extreme!
made us feel as if we were on a roller coaster ride!

safe flight, nevertheless :D

on our way to collect our luggages!

first group pic tgt at BKK, with a random christmas tree.

Christmas is certainly not over yet, in BKK.
their Christmas decos are still displayed everywhere!

aft which, we looked for the 'Public Taxi' sign to get ourselves a cab and send us to the hotel.
did'nt wanna waste time taking the mrt!

taxi all q-ing up to pick up passengers!

it was really a long long q!

with the help of one of the staff, we managed to get ourselves a big cab to store all our luggages + the 4 of us.

taxi driver who picked us up from the airport at BKK was so so friendly and funny too! haha, good start!

friendly taxi driver drove us to our hotel, Baiyoke Sky!

this is the lobby, on the 18th floor.

the check-out counter.

fruits-buffet area.
nope, we did'nt try that.

anw, we were too early to into our rooms, so we made our way to Indra Square for lunch first.

headed to the food court!

a must to buy coupons to pay for food.
leftover coupons can be refunded in cash :D

pot of warm water beside the utensils for us to dipped into and wash.
sg should have this too!

we were super hungry!
ordered food to share.

meimei ordered fried rice.
totally the kind that she loves!

also ordered seafood phad thai with glass noodles.

and the hotplay oyster omelette!

with lots of beansprouts and fresh oysters!

ty and i dont take oysters, so we gave them all to popo and meimei.
we took the egg, beansprouts and flour. lol.

aft lunch, we went to get our room keys to check-in!

hello, level #27
:'>

chose a non-smoking floor.

no free wifi. chey.

welcome welcome!

just one huge pillow and one small pillow for each bed.

the toilet.
oh, there's a standing shower too.

a view of the busy roads and buildings of BKK when we look out of the window.

looking down is the hotel's swimming pool.

too tired aft flight.
rested for a short short while on the comfy beds, while awaiting our luggages to be delivered to our room.

made our way to Chatuchak Market soon after.
it's the only day during our trip tt we can visit Chatuchak Market, coz it's a weekend market!

the lady selling plants in the middle of nowhere.

lanes aft lanes of the market!

i thought, only at Taiwan will we see dogs running around in the owner's store.

well, i spotted one here too!

finally, very satisfied to have captured its smiling face :D

walked out and discovered another street/lanes, the other side of Chatuchak Market!
more shopping!

foreigners everywhere!

and we spotted a crocodile's head with money on it, in the middle of nowhere!

do not know what it's meant for.

just look at its teeth.

spotted an ice-cream man on our way too.
he just pushes his cart everywhere and stops when someone wants to buy ice-cream.
lol, so mobile!

the 3 of them who were tired from all the walking and needed some rest.
lol, look at ty's tired face.

spotted someone selling fruits!

bought some jumbu to share!
so juicy and sweet and cold!
just what we need on a hot hot weather!

no idea why, but ty suddenly became so smiley. lol.

popo and ty sat on the bench to rest while meimei and i walked down the street to shop on our own, then later back again to find them.

spotted this stranger's dog.
the way she carries it is like carrying a baby.

spot the cutesy white fluffy dog :D

lol, saw quite a number of people buying from this place.
so we decided to give it a try.

bought just one to share!

our icy-milky-grass-jelly drink!

happy popo :D

*slurps!*

spotted another stall just next to it.

they call this 'Meat Candy'!
it's sausages wrapped in bacon strips on a stick.

happy meimei :D

cont'd shopping.
spotted a bull-dog.
haha, looking so cutely-dumb.

the super nice lady boss!

saw some rings which i wanted to buy initially at another shop, which cost abt 100baht or 150baht per ring.

but at this shop, it's 3 for 100baht!
zomg, of course i'll wanna get it!
but they have quite a number of design and i had difficulties choosing.
needed popo's help.

meanwhile, ty got tired and the lady boss was too nice!
she actually brought out a stool for her to sit on while waiting for me to choose my rings!
ahhha!

ice-pops!

saw such a big crowd gathered, so we kaypo-kaypo and squeezed our way in too. lol.

oh! they were having some promo!
2 for 150baht!

of course, we grabbed abt 6 pieces in total!

the guy sitting on the high-chair is too funny. lol.
he is just so eloquent! hahaha!

everyone was tired, esp ty!
so we flagged a cab back to our hotel.

this is the view of the exterior of our hotel in the night.
yea 'Joy Is BMW', it states.
ahha.

meimei and i went to dabao dinner while popo and ty went back to the hotel room first.

oh yes, and because of that, we were stuck outside our room for like abt half an hr or so!
such a scary experience!

we thought popo and ty couldnt hear our knocks and hence, decided to leave a note under the door while still trying our best to knock.

but sadly, no one answers the door!

meimei and i were stranded outside our hotel room for abt half an hr or so!

turned out, they were actually waiting for us at the lobby coz they were worried tt we would not be able to get up to our level without our room key card!

lesson learnt : NEVER leave room key cards in hotel room.

finally, it's dinner time for us at only around 9plus or 10pm.

only sad thing for now abt the hotel, is tt there's no free wifi!

because of the time difference between SG and BKK, we had an extra hour, so to speak.
it just felt like we had such a long long day!
so awesome when you realized time passes so slowly when you're overseas. lol.

a whole day of shopping at Chatuchak
it's never enough!

another shopping day tmr!
cant wait!
