Amalienborg Palace at Copenhagen, Denmark.

it's the weekend, so mei and i decided to make our way to Copenhagen to catch the changing of guards at noon, at the Amalienborg Palace!

the Amalienborg Palace is the winter home of the Danish royal family.

well, but sadly, we missed the bus by a min!

we arrived at the bus stop just a min late and the bus left alr :(

it's pissing coz we had to wait an hr before we the next bus arrives.
plus, we had to catch our train!

hence, we decided to hitch a ride to the train station.

well, when you're overseas, your skin just have to be thicker. lol.

and so... we tried to hitch a ride from this guy topping up his petrol at the petrol kiosk.

sad to say, we dai suay him and had to help push his car instead coz the engine couldnt start up :(

we helped push, and he still couldnt start up.

he even resorted to asking the taxi driver who stopped by the road.

we are really sorry :|

apologetic faces :|

the taxi driver came over to take a look.
but still couldnt figure out the problem.

thereafter, he had no choice and had to call the mechanic for help.

meanwhile, we stayed to wait with him and chatted alittle.

we also took a pic with him for remembrance sake coz it was quite an epic encounter. lol.

waited for abt half an hr or so and the mechanic finally arrived!

resolved the prob within mins and off we went again!

teehee, meimei's shot of her yan tang.

while chit-chatting, we got to know one another's name.

he is Andre and he's really a nice guy.

sent us all the way to the train station after his car was fixed!

lucky we were still on time and managed to catch the next train.

prepared some biscuits to snack on the 3-hr train ride to Copenhagen :'>

never forget my biscuits.

we found ourselves seats when we first boarded.

but had to give up our seats after a few stops coz someone else booked them.

hence, we had to sit on the steps AGAIN.

i sat till my pi gu suan.
but meimei still managed to fall asleep. haha.

upon arrival, we hurriedly asked for directions to the Amalienborg Palace.

boarded the bus with our bus ticket.

we saw a crowd, so we fastened our paces towards it!

so glad, coz we managed to catch the changing of guards still!

and suddenly, it started to pour.

but their rain is really minor.

so the ceremony still carried on.

the guards wears a tall hat that resembles really thick hair!

and they'll start to move from one building to another.

and people will just follow behind them.

meanwhile, we took the chance to take pics with the guards that were stationary outside the individual buildings.

yes, we had to stand that far away from the guard.

coz if we moved alittle closer, they will stomp their rifles on the ground and put their arm out, showing that we had to be at least an arm's length away from him.

they're really serious at this.

see, the girl in blue got too frightened and started to run away.

the cheeky boy trying to be funny with the guard by inching a step closer each time while turning his head to look at the guard.

too cute! haha!

and it ended with a march past by the band.

a pic with that royal horse?

did'nt read up abt it, but i guess it should be related with royalty since it's located in the center.

this is a church.

really pretty.
the gong sounds genuinely came out from the top!
we saw the gong/bells!

did'nt wanna take the bus, so we explored the streets while finding our way towards the train station.

patriotic eh?

Denmark flags hung at the entrance of the cafe.

pics again :D

buildings behind look vintage.

adjusting to some modes with effects.

black x white.

we were at Frederiksgade.

more artistic shots.

the kind of mountings they have on walls.

another statue spotted.

there were quite a few statues all over, but we just dont know who/what they rep.

another pretty building behind us.

no idea if it's a house, a church, or what exactly is it, but it just look nice. lol.

yes, meimei went to the middle of the road, just to have a pic taken.

crossing back as soon as the 'red man' appears.

my turn to cross back. haha.

loving how we'd just randomly take pics like those!

this pic below, we think it's a cemetery.
dogs are not allowed and they have a mini gate to guard the area.

and because we saw this on the plough of field, so we guessed it might be a cemetery and this person must be someone well-known.

another statue spotted, but we have no idea who is he.

must be someone well-known too.

moving on, we spotted some colourful buildings and coz meimei read up alittle on Copenhagen, this is significant!

this colourful buildings rep Copenhagen!

so glad we decided not to take the bus and walk.
only so did we managed to pass by this!

pretty sight.

but somehow got reminded of Clark Quay in Sg.

more colourful buildings.

:D

spotted a souvenir shop as we walked.

so cute with a soldier displayed at the entrance of the shop, holding a Denmark flag.

we were having our wraps and this animal came.

it is a duck coz it has webbed feet and meimei saw it 'fly' into the water and started waddling.
damn.. i thought it's a bird.

cont'd walking on the streets and we heard the sound of horse galloping.

turned around, and woah, a horse carriage spotted ON THE ROAD!

yes, together with the cars and all!

why so cool one!

cont'd our journey and spotted this vehicle with people in it, making lots of noise.

no idea what they were doing, but they sure look happening!

very lucky to have spotted a couple getting married!

they actually booked a boat for their guests and started popping champagne while enjoying the moment!
so cool!

we walked and walked and somehow ended up on the Stroget!

yes, the long shopping street!

spotted a Disney shop and of course, went in to take a look :']

little girl in her princess costume :)

aww~ spotted a dalmatian soft toy!
totally got reminded of our childhood where meimei and i each had one dalmatian soft toy and we even gave them names!

these are what brought back childhood memories in meimei's case!

and hehe, spotted the new love!

too exp to be bought home.

so i'll take a few more pics. lol.

teehee, because mickey is cuter than minnie.

little girl in princess costume still running around in the shop. haha.

walked out of the Disney shop coz everything's exp and we could only see and touch, but cannot buy :/

saw a crowd, so we walked towards it and popped our heads to kaypo abit.

WOAH!
we saw this!

so amazing! how did they do that!?

spent a few mins there, then decided to walk down the street to see if we've got anything that we wanna buy.

and tadah!
i spotted Pandora!

and of course, imma happy girl now! :'>
thank you boyfriend!

more pretty pics with the pretty architectures!

and lastly, we decided to get some breads/pastries so we can eat on the 3hrs train journey back to Aarhus!

always wanted to try some Danish pastries.
spotted it, so we walked in immediately to get them! :D

yay!

foooooooood :D

#1) this one has almond + icing sugar on top.

#2) this one has custard inside + chocolate on top.
