Singapore's 48th Birthday / ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum.

on this cool weather, meimei needed me to take a vid for her, to her friends.

she wanted to do it before she goes to school and it was so last min, we had like only about 15mins or so left!

so, she did a short vid with a few NGs.

i just woke up and just rushed down with her and hence, in my sleepwear + messy hair.

i was brr-ing cold la! Lol.

as usual, meimei went to school after.
so i took my time to prepare and skyped boyfriend when i could.

it's upsetting that i cant be there to take care of him when he's unwell, so this is the simplest way to show my concern.

'get well soon, darling!'

when meimei was soon to be home, i prepared wraps for us to bring out later coz eating out is really exp here :(

some fruits for myself.
love strawberries dipped in sugar =']

anw, it's the 9th of Aug 2013, which means to say it's our national day!

though we know we wont be in SG to celebrate this special day, we pre-packed red and white clothes just to wear on this day!

the plan today is to head to the art museum in Aarhus!

it's called ARoS and is one of the largest art museums in northern Europe.

so, we google-mapped the destination and snap pics of it for us to navigate ourselves there later.

took a bus, and a short walk and tadah! that is the museum!

a musical school nearby.
reminds me of the wizardy-schools that Harry Potter goes to. haha.

this is the outside of the museum.
us, in red and white ^.^

patriotic eh :'>

teehee, we like the cooling weather :'>

happy 48th birthday, Singapore! :'>

we were only interested in the Rainbow Panorama at the top.

however, we needed to pay to get in.

oh well, after some consideration, we think it's not that worth and hence, decided to save the money and just admire it from the outside :'>

we looked around and these are what families and locals do.

they just sat down at any spot on the grass and have a picnic.

meimei and i then followed them and do what they did. haha.

still able to view the Rainbow Panorama from where we were seated.
totally fine with that :']

meimei chose a shady area under the tree coz she gets tan damn easily and doesnt want to be under the sun.
but i want the sun though!
i think it's alittle too cold! Lol.

anw, it's time to eat!

teehee, with the wrap i prepared :)

yummy, i hope :D

:D

my wrap :'>

i like it, my way :'>

looking at the children playing with that shark-like helicopter while having our wraps. hahaha.

after having our wraps while enjoying the breeze and relaxing on the grass, we decided to walk into the art museum to take a look inside the common area :D

on our way there, we saw people chilling on the steps.
so cool.

it's just so relaxing here, so chill! haha.
slow and steady~

yup, so this is the interior of the art museum.
we did'nt buy tickets to get in to see the gallery, so this is just the common area.

guess this :

dont dare to get to close to it in case it suddenly just decides to move!

do you think it's a real person?

this is the only thing we were interested in.

the model of it displayed outside the gift shop.

walked into the gift shop.
when it's meimei, it's all about books.

when it's me, i borrowed her camera and snapped these.
hehe, these look more interesting than books!

look, another interesting thingy!

this is a postcard of "Boy", which is the most famous favourite art work by Ron Muecks.

they have a really gigantic statue of him, but we did'nt get tickets, so we could only view it from the top.
but it's really impressive! we did'nt expect it to be so huge!

and that's about it at the common area.

encounters like these do happen.

exited the museum.

greeted with blue sky and fluffy clouds, plus cooling wind.
just too shiok :'>

they even have pretty buildings by the roads!

pics on the steps :)

and meimei always encounter people who photobomb her. lol.

a proper one when everyone else in the background shoo-ed away :D

a proper one when everyone else in the background shoo-ed away :D

a moment to rest when we spot a bench before starting to walk and explore the streets again.

we lifted our heads and saw the other side of the Rainbow Panorama!
it's the red side!

we wanted to take a pic with it coz it's national's day, so red may be more meaningful than the others in the spectrum, but it's way too high and pics wont turn out nice coz we'd be too tiny.

hence, we skipped it.

instead, we walked towards the glass panels and spotted the "Boy"!

did'nt get to go in coz we dont think it's worth it and wanted to save the money.
so, we just took with his back/side view while we were outside :']

just to show how big it is!
really, a giant!
impressive :'D

continued exploring the streets.
as i have mentioned earlier in my other posts, plenty of locals cycle here!

hence, they have a cycling path and a mini traffic light for cyclists.
i think it's cool!

just randomly walked in any directions on the streets to explore and we came across this.

like a river.

like a lake.

with weird looking rock sculpture on the grass.
it's like they have faces and many of them being joined together?

but it's a pond for the ducks!

we walked on further and so many ducks started swimming out!

so coool right!
meimei and i think that it's because we were standing there and they thought we had food, so all gathered.

but sadly, we are tourists.
only there to take pics with them, and somehow, they know it.
hence, they just swim off soon after.

walked to the roads and saw this!
this view is so beautiful!

and a white building to show that we're in Aarhus.

but we always cant differentiate whether it's a house, an office or a shop that sells things or something else.

they all look the same!

at the cross-roads, they have this hamburger-painted-stone?

just so random, but it's so cute!

nomz!

we just roamed around randomly and we saw Kiwi.
it's a supermarket, so we decided to go in and take a look.

look at their trolley that has like a car-seat for babies, attached to it.
so cool.

and as usual, there'll be a display of a variety of breads displayed somewhere in the supermarket.

shopping for breakfast!

they even have mini-trolley for the kids!
too cute right!

just too cute!

and this is how we make payment at the cashier.
we have to take a 'tag' and place it behind our items once we have placed them all out.

it serves as a divider for the cashier to know where it starts and ends, and to which customer the items belong to.

nobody puts their baskets up.
we didn't know and we just placed the whole basket on it on the first day that we went for grocery shopping, just like how we did at supermarkets in Sg!

saw a mama shop with flowers for sale displayed outside, but nope, nothing special.
mama shop was so stuffy inside.
turn-off much.

on the streets, we see lots of cyclists.
those with kids cycle by attaching a seat behind or in-front of them like the pic below.
their kid(s) just sit inside comfortably.
so cool!

walked past a art shop and saw an art-lady holding the 'ABEN' sign.
we read it as 'ah-ben'.
lol. naturally, we missed the brother!

continued walking on coz we just missed the bus and didn'nt wanna wait for another hr for it.

saw this door.
dont know if it's a door of a house, a shop or something else.

just took a pic with it nevertheless coz looks nice. heh.

:']

shadows :']

see, bricks again.

everywhere, anywhere; bricks!

and quite a number of graffiti around!

reflection :')

I jump #1.

jump #2.

JUMP!

and meimei's turn.
but she doesnt wanna do jump-shots, so it's just her and the graffiti :)

ok, i want one too.
with the graffiti :'>

unknowingly, we have walked to Klosterport!

that moment.

we walked to  bus stop that we could take a bus from!

so we waited.

sun was super glaring.
hence, the need for shades!

one with meimei :D :D

colour of my hair under the sun.
like a dip-dye, it seems.

heading back to the apartment soon for dinner!

toodles!

we weren't too hungry, so this was dinner.

that was today!
toodles!

more pics on FB! :']
